Clackamas County - Property Foreclosures (Oregon) class action settlement
A $2.4 million settlement has been reached with Clackamas County for former property owners whose homes were foreclosed and sold for more than the taxes owed. Eligible individuals or their heirs can receive 100% of the surplus proceeds from the sale by submitting a claim by May 25, 2026.

You may be eligible to file a claim if you meet the following criteria: • Owned or held an interest in a real estate property in Clackamas County obtained through a foreclosure action • County sold the property for more than the unpaid taxes and fees • Statutory redemption period expired between November 11, 2019, and January 12, 2024 • If the original owner or interest holder is deceased or no longer exists, their heirs, successors, or assignees are included as Class Members • You are generally eligible if the property was sold for an amount that exceeded the unpaid taxes, fees, and costs, or if the county retained a property worth more than the underlying tax debt
